Active MD was founded by two female directors, Kate Elliott and Claire McDermid, in 2006. We have always been enthusiastic about women in business and have been involved in a wide range of organisations which support women in Norfolk. When we first started the business, we were lucky to receive one to one support from the excellent Womens Enterprise, Education and Training Unit (WEETU). We have since returned the favour, working for WEETU to develop their logo and branding in 2010.
In 2007 we voluntarily established the first Women in Rural Enterprise (WiRE) network in King's Lynn and today we sit on the committee of the Norwich Business Womens Network and the Women, Research and Enterprise Forum at the University of East Anglia. Our own Claire also hosts The Womens Business Clubs Premier Club in King's Lynn.
Plus in 2010, Kate was a finallist in the East of England Young Businesswoman of the Year awards.
